What happens in the story?

Bertie is a little boy and he finds a white lion. The lion comes to live with Bertie’s family. Bertie’s daddy says that the lion can’t stay forever. The circus leader comes and takes the lion away to France. Bertie searches and searches and eventually he finds the lion.

Our favourite character in this book was Bertie. Bertie was a really brave little boy. He loved the lion. When the lion went to join the circus, Bertie felt sad and lonely. Bertie was kind to other people.

The best part of the book was when we found out that Bertie found the lion and that they lived together.

I liked that the book was about different things. We learned about Africa and the war and England.
